I searched to see if I could find anything on this topic and didn't really find anything... Some days I forget to eat and have to force myself to get enough Protein in (and calories) but then days like today.. Nothing is getting rid of this hunger.. (It's 2:49pm and I've had 500 kals already)

I just want to know if this is common and other people experience this? Pleaseeeee tell me I'm not alone. I'm 6 weeks in

Tuesday I felt like I could eat all day (and I still didn't make my calories for the day). Wednesday I barely ate.

It happens.

Ditto what @@OutsideMatchInside said.

Some days not much appetite or actual hunger; some days want to eat anything not tied down. Some days I have physical hunger and want to eat something or drink a Protein shake just to end the hunger, but have trouble making myself get up and do it. Today is one of those days.

I'm not sure what's going on but seriously I haven't felt like this in 6 weeks.. It's a hunger that keeps coming back, I'll have to contact my doctor tomorrow and ask for a check up or something because this can't be normal. Hopefully it's a one off and tomorrow will be back to normal.. I could be mistaking swelling of stomach pain for hunger I don't know but I'm concerned

Often acid can be perceived as hunger, it's that way for me. Are you on a PPI or anything for acid?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
