Day 7; no weight loss yet - when did you start losing?

Recommended Posts

I'm 7 days out and lost 3 pounds. I'm actually concerned because I can easily get down fluids. I can gulp them down just like a did before and can get in my 3 Protein shakes. Sometimes I wonder if he actually did the procedure but I'm not really hungry.

You must not have much swelling. That's a good thing!

I am 5 weeks out and haven't lost anything in 2 weeks. So scared I am somehow getting too many calories. Plus I am still hungry. I am freaking out.

I've read of others who hit a stall at 3 weeks. I don't think it's uncommon to hit stalls as your body readjusts to its new size.

Yes stalls are very normal but you should also be tracking your food so you know how many calories, carbs, and Protein you're getting......Just stick to your plan and the weight will come off.

Also they pump you full of liquid at the hospital it can take a week or two for it to flush out. Ironically the more liquid you drink the faster it flushes and you start losing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
