Darcy Girl, we missed you!!!!

Hey Miss Wisconsin, where have you been hiding? I am thinking you were probably on some exotic trip around the world with an extended stay in Jamaica or something very similar to that.

Hope all is well with you. Update us on how you are doing. Miss your smiling face and cheerful notes. Maybe you were on a fabric buying frenzy and could not get past all your piles of quilting fabric to reach your key board. That's the ticket -- too much fabric. Now, I know.... HA HA. Fellow quilter, Theresa Marie

Here I am... Here I am!!!! I was elected to be the hostess for the holiday family reuion of sorts... OY... a natural born hostess I am NOT. :D It took me three days to get the house in shape... then 4 days of overnight guests... and then two days to recover...lol. There were so many children running and screaming through my house that all of my maternal urges were completely extinguished... forever. :D Heck... my hubby had a vasectomy and I still won't let him touch me... just in case! I seriously missed the heck out of everyone and am reading posts like crazy to catch up on all that I missed. (((hugs)))

P.S. Jamaica is lovely this time of year. :D

Darcy, glad to hear from you. Those family parties are fun, and I know what you mean about getting the house ready, the actual party, hanger ons who are fun to have stay later, and the KIDS. My husband and I always tease and say Christmas with all my brother and sisters and nieces and nephews is the best form of birth control we have ever seen. HA. It gets quite loud and wild, but so much fun.

Good to see your lovely smiling face again. I have to figure out how to get a photo on here of me -- I did not mean that as a threat. HA.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
