melanies 3 Posted June 28, 2016 Hi everyone! I got banded in 2007 and am looking into revision to sleeve. I had to do all the pre-qualification stuff for insurance coverage before my band. bellasmommy99 48 Posted June 28, 2016 Now I didn't because I had a band failure. If there is anything going on with your band like slippage, erosion of esophagus, reflux that has been ongoing even with medication and you have a good surgeon and his insurance staff are advocAting for you and not their pocketbooks you should not have to jump through as many hoops as the first time. melanies 3 Posted June 28, 2016 I did have issues with my band for the first 3 years. It was drained completely and then I never went back to refill it. I had obstruction issues, vomiting, and what I believe is lap band failure. I think my first step might be a barium x-ray to check band position? Shaunie 123 Posted June 28, 2016 I had the band done in 2008 and removed in 2015. Going in for gastric bypass july 5th! Yes I had to do all the pre-qualifications again.
