Well I have been ready and waiting for surgery so excited...Yesterday I went to pick up my prescriptions and they tell me I do not have health insurance...I am under my dads plan and he quit his job me and him are not on good terms. I do not know what to do now. I am just going to show up tomorrow for surgery act like I do not know. i am scared that they will try and verify Insurance one more time before surgery. Anyone know If they check insurance again before surgery...I am scheduled for 2;30 pm

When you register tomorrow they will run your insurance in order to print out your wrist bands, lab labels, etc.. It's all part of the process.

Of course every state is different, so I wish you luck.

Hang in there. Unfortunately a lot of hospitals are electronically linked to insurance plans. However sometimes it slips past. Good luck

I would think the hospital would call you if there were issues with your coverage. They usually are careful to check ahead of time so they don't eat the bill. Hopefully when Cobra goes thru they honor your authorization from prior coverage. When I got Cobra it was actually a different plan #. Just be cautious - you don't want a $40k bill.

For COBRA, typically but not always is just a different subgroup of the company 's plans. Most of the time it can be the same coverage as the active employees which generally follows the same medical policies, benefit structure . It hopefully should be just a group or id number change. If you can look at the COBRA benefit grid and see if wls is a covered benefit.

Good luck, hopefully it works out.

I meant it more in the way that I don't want you to suddenly get surprised with a 40k bill

I would hate to be turned away today...I did all preop things and took all my medicines. I would assume they would call me to before I came in...There is still time for them to call me. I just need to have it today or I cannot have it all. My coverage since I am turning 26 july 1st ends. So if they turn me away today...I have no chance. I swear the stress from all this is making me sick. I just want to know already.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
