clc9 644 Posted February 27, 2017 I have to give myself Lovenox shots for 2 weeks due to family history of blood clots on both sides of my family. I hate doing it, but I'm following orders.

tanyamann32 84 Posted March 14, 2017 I have DVT and pulmonary embolisms presently on coumadin. This is so scary and I must admit 6 weeks and I can still barely walk from the pain in my calf. All my mind can think of is the pain, subsequently I can barely eat. I am definitely struggling.

SharonMay 0 Posted May 14, 2017 Tanyamann32. I know it's been awhile since you've written this, but can you please tell me what they did about your bleeding ulcer? I have another one now and it's bad too. He only gives me carafate liquid to take 4 times a day. It's not gone yet. I know you know how they hurt. Would you please tell me what they did for you and how are you doing now? Thank you, Sharon

ColleenErin1974 195 Posted May 14, 2017 I have to be on lovenox shots for 4 weeks postop. My surgery isn't until 6/21/17. I had bilateral pulmonary embolisms a couple years back and to this day no one knows why I had them. They were awful and hurt a lot. I had to see a hematologist to get me cleared for surgery. My surgeon usually puts everyone on the shots for 2 weeks, but the hematologist said for me to be on them for 4 weeks just to be on the safe side. I'm all for it.
