chica71 6 Posted June 26, 2016 I'm not hungry, but it looks like I only got 375 calories and 70 grams or protien. How long will I be this exhausted? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
Caribear 184 Posted June 26, 2016 I am still pre-op, and have not started the diet yet, but I have heard that the first three days is the hardest. Hopefully you will feel better after that.

SharBear617 146 Posted June 27, 2016 My experience was, day 1 fine, day 2 worst, rest of the time totally fine as long as I kept full on the non-starchy veggies I was allowed to have. But I agree most peopl are fine after first couple days. Also please keep in mind, that as hungry as you may get pre-op, literally you will come out of surgery with NO hunger, and it will stay that way for some time after surgery so hopefully knowing that will help you through. Ashley Nd Michael Fisher 19 Posted June 27, 2016 I am on day 6 of a 14 day liquids only diet. Surgery is on July 5!! Excited, but a little nervous. I will say, the first few days were harder than the rest....but it still gets hard! I have to avoid family gatherings that involve food (like BBQs) right now. I hope everyone else does well. HANG IN THERE!! A little secret: I waited until day 4 to eat some Beef broth...it tasted SOOOOOO GOOOD!!! Its amazing what tastes good when you wait a few days before waking up your taste buds. LACRACRA2 58 Posted June 27, 2016 I am on day 6 of 14 day liquid diet. I also did not try broth until day 5 and I was in heaven!!!! I couldn't believe it. First thing I had tonight for supper. Yum. Who knew? . I am allowed 3-5 shakes per day. I had to purchase them through my doctors office. They are only 16g Protein per shake. I started off the first few days having four a day. Now I do good to get three down? I think I'm not hungry/thirsty for them. But any little bit of exercise I do or cleaning of the house I'm exhausted within minutes!! Like legs hurting, sweating profusely and feeling faint. I'm sure it's because I'm not getting enough of the Protein Shakes in right? What can I do other than force myself to drink them? If so, how much? I think that has been something that helps me get through the day! It sounds like Your doing great. Does your surgeon allow any solids? I have been reading about some people being allowed certain solids as well. I'm having some stomach pain tonight (feels like hunger pains) and WISH I could have something solid in my stomach. Ugh! LACRACRA2 58 Posted June 28, 2016 No B12 well I hate to sound dumb but only what is in my Vitamins. I am the chewables multi Vitamin 2 per day. And there are Vitamins included with my shakes that I was told to take per day also. The first week of pre op diet I can have liquids, shakes, dill pickles, broth 5 small pieces of fresh fruit and or add the fruit to the shakes. Second week I can have liquids only (broth, shakes, Water, crystal light). Sent from my iPhone
Ashley Nd Michael Fisher 19 Posted June 28, 2016 B12 is a great addition for you. The surgeons in our area all require it. You may want to try to add 500mcg B12 to your regular vitamin!! It will help after surgery too. They have quick dissolving tablets and go under your tongue. ????
