Happy to not be able to post until 18 months post op, but at only 4lbs from goal, being able to view vet forum posts would be extremely valuable.

I agree with the gender specific areas as well. I suspect most folks don't realize they are posting in the wrong area but if you are in the women's room or men's room specifically, you should not have to read posts from those of the opposite sex.

Yeah yeah...

That's what they all say...
You'll all go off and forget us...
Forget where you came from...

You'll talk about us...

Tease us...

But that's ok...

Because on Aug 27, when my 18 months is up -

I'll be there to sort you all out!!!!

I would definitely like to be included. I'm 25 months post op (although I'm revising from sleeve to RNY because of GERD . . . would that make me a newbie??) I think there are definitely issues that only face those of us father away from surgery. Thanks for making it based on surgery date and not number of posts . . . I read way more than I post.

I'm just so glad that I will be able to read the Vet posts! I need you guys!

I still have a long way to go, at just over 3 months post op, but I value your experiences and knowledge.

So happy with the decision :)

Otherwise I would go into Vets withdrawals ...... with not much to read .....

Thank you all!

Eh, not so much with the vet group. If you don't want to read about d*ck size you know to stay out of the guy's and you don't want to hear about monthly's you stay out of the ladies room. Veteran's issues seem to be across the board IMHO.

@@Alex Brecher There is only one naysayer so far in four pages. What does that tell you? :D

And who, pray tell, would that be?

Hmmm. *Rubs chin*

Hey, I was an early adopter after @VSGAnne weighted in

18 months is smart. I'm 20 months but alas, BP will not let me sign in on my iPhone and I HATE this Kindle. I'm posting less and less because of it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
