Good morning (or afternoon) guy, I am going to buy some Protein powder today and was wondering, what Protein Powder do you use? What is a good recommendation?

I heard whey Protein is good but I know that whey is basically milk and some of us can't tolerate dairy. (I can though).

Hi, I use a brand called Milk shake Bar Protein powder. It is very good, not gritty, no nasty after taste. They have a variety of flavors, my 2 favorites are vanilla Caramel & Rocky Road. They are gluten free. I get mine at Amazon. I've tried others but these are the absolute best.

Can I find it at Walmart or GMC?

Whey in isolate form is optimal though don't stress if the whey is in another form. Focus on low sugar per serving, e.g. 5 grams or less. A good protein powder should have 20-30 grams of protein a serving. Personally, I avoid soy and all collagen Proteins as well as anything with known heavy metal content- thus I usually try to find brands sourced in the USA. A few brands to consider: Terra's whey and Designer whey protein. If avoiding whey, look at Jay Robb. He makes an egg protein.

Sorry, No. I haven't seen it in any retail store. They have a website www.proteinmilkshakebar.com, or phone 1-888-582-2580, they should be able to help you! I hope you get a chance to try it, it's really good!

I tried a lot of Protein powders and found that unflavored is the most versatile. I really like Nature's Best Isopure Whey Protein Isolate. You can buy it online and at GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.

If you are looking for a flavored protiein powder, Syntrax makes great stuff.

I was using Premier and Body Fortress (both found in Walmart) before my surgery but I'm 1 week post-op today and my sleeve has not been able to tolerate either one of those. So I am now using nectar and it's great taste just like juice and yu mix it Water. They have it in Vitamin Shoppe and on Amazon

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
