venomousflowers 56 Posted June 26, 2016 Original: So, on Thursday, I was going for my daily hourly walk when I was drinking Water and my stomach began to badly cramp. It literally felt like my stomach was being squished and I had to stop at a gas station to use the rest room. What I thought would be just a regular bowl movement was dark red blood, no stool, just blood. This alerted me so I got a ride home and took a long rest. The next day, I began having chest pains on and off and didn't have a bowl movement all day. Today, I have had a few chest pains and a headache, dizziness upon standing, weakness and bouts of diarrhea in which the last one was a bit bloody. I have no idea what's going on. Has anyone experienced this? Now: So, at 12pm, my surgeon called me and told me to do a liquid diet and, if things don't get better, see him Monday. Since 12pm, I haven't been able to use the bathroom, just been able to pee but that's it. I have been drinking warm and cold fluids. I have not had any hunger, no chest pains or headaches or stomach pain until 4 this morning. Stomach started cramping, had lots of chest pain and finally, at 7, I was able to have a bowl movement. My stomach is still cramping and swollen but I do feel a bit better. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

venomousflowers 56 Posted June 26, 2016 @ Any further bleeding?Yes actually. My surgeon told me to come in on Monday as soon as I can. He also said if the blood turns from bright red to dark red, go to the ER. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Djmohr 6,965 Posted June 26, 2016 How very scary! I hope that everything gets better quickly and they figure out what the heck is going on. I have not heard of this happening before.
venomousflowers 56 Posted June 26, 2016 I hope all goes well! You see, this is all complicated because I originally had my surgery in Omaha Nebraska and I moved just one month after surgery due to family issues. While in Nebraska, I had troubles with dehydration and stomach cramps but nothing too major. Before I got down to Florida, I made a month stop in Georgia and got a job because I assumed we were going to live there. I worked with dogs, I had to lift and clean heavy things, including the dogs and I was only two months post opp but had no issues. Then we moved down to Florida and that is when I began having issues, putting on weight, bloody stool, fatigue, dehydration. I have the same insurance but the way the insurance works down here is so different from the Midwest, ie they move super slow and hardly take my insurance. I was supposed to have a endoscopy back in March but my surgeon's staff neglected to tell me I needed a referral. It took me literally months to find a doctor to give me one and, for a whole month, my symptoms stopped but they came back starting this month. The Constipation and stomach cramps are new, though. I'm still waiting for my doctors office to send over a fax and its taking them forever. I told my new surgeon all of this and he still seemed like he was so nonchalant about it, even when I told him I can use the bathroom now but I'm still bleeding, no sense of urgency in his voice. I am so frustrated. How very scary! I hope that everything gets better quickly and they figure out what the heck is going on. I have not heard of this happening before. KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 27, 2016 Unless it's a hemorrhoid - bleeding is not something to take lightly (not sure what your new surgeon is thinking). I hope it's nothing serious - please keep us posted.
