Oops! I just swallowed a pill whole

You should be fine. By the way, Celebrate makes two kinds of chewable multivitamins, one is a soft chewy and the other is like a sweet tart. Both are good.

I used Celebrate Vitamins at first especially since they are local for me. After about a month they weren't so great. My surgeons office offered me Bariactive brand. The mail them to my house (multivitamins, Calcium, Iron and B12 spray) they melt in your mouth and they are pretty good.

I am 10 months out and I still take all of mine as gummy or liquid. Just a habit now.

I've been curious about pills/vitamins. I was told I would have to use chewable Vitamins for three months after surgery. I was told to keep taking my omeprazole and to start taking a stool softener beginning two days after surgery. Both of these are regular capsule size and I haven't had any problems swallowing them. I don't know why I need chewable vitamins because I think I could easily get them down also.

I was told if the pills are very large to cut them into pieces with a pill cutter or to crush them. I also take Bariatric Choice's new All-In-One chewable Vitamins. They include everything so I don't have to get any extras on the side. I was paranoid about swallowing my Omeprazole capsules so I open them up and empty them into my yogurt.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
