OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted June 25, 2016 I had fair type food on 4th of July. Then my real last meal was just the stock of some onion Soup at a very nice French restaurant. I was on Clear liquids before surgery, but I was going to dine in style just in case I died the next day.
charley27 164 Posted June 25, 2016 I'm having my final dinner tonight and my husband wants to take me out. I can't pick a place though. I didn't have a special diet before surgery except Clear Liquids the day before. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted June 25, 2016 it was valentines day - and the anniversary of our engagement so we had take out from our fav Pasta place and cheesecake.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted June 25, 2016 @@charley27 There was a lot of stuff I thought I would never eat after surgery, but in reality my diet is pretty much the same. I would probably go for carby things. When I was eating on 4th of July before I started my pre-op I had sugar things, which was weird because I didn't even eat sugar at that point and hadn't in years. I had a funnel cake, a huge thing fo fries, a cheese steak and I think I got an alcoholic drink even though I didn't drink. So I took a few bites of funnel cake, didn't drink the liquor, ate 1/2 the fries, and made a decent dent in the cheese steak. I was really too hot to eat and I wasn't even mentally in a pig out space, even though I wanted to be. What is your favorite meal?

amandastearns 79 Posted June 25, 2016 I had subway. My love for carbs is real and I knew I wouldn't be able to eat a sandwich for a while if ever
ccflotron34 55 Posted June 25, 2016 Had Chinese food for my last meal before starting my liquid diet. I'm on day 6 now and I would do anything for another plate!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted June 26, 2016 I had chicken and salad. A carby meal makes me super hungry for days and I knew I personally couldn't handle that on such a restrictive pre op diet. If you can handle cravings for days (or perhaps carbs don't affect you like they do me), go for your favorites. Live large!

Valentina 2,642 Posted June 26, 2016 I went to the Keyport Fishery in NJ and had a full platter of fish--fried, baked, broiled and raw---and of course souped. Do I regret having my "food funeral"? Not one damned bit! I'll have those memories for a life time. There will be foods that you will not ever eat comfortably again. --and if you are one of the WLS people who experience dumping, you will never be able to eat those foods again without retching--ever. Enjoy your "food funeral". I did.
