Babbs 14,681 Posted June 25, 2016 I took my love and I took it down Climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills Till the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? And can I sail through the changing ocean tides Can I handle the seasons of my life? Oh oh I don't know, oh I don't know Well, I've been afraid of changing 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm getting older too Well, I've been afraid of changing 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older I'm getting older too Oh I'm getting older too Oh, take my love, take it down Climb a mountain and turn around And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well the landslide will bring you down, down And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well maybe the landslide will bring you down Well well, the landslide will bring you down I'm not posting artist or song title because if you don't know you're a bad person and should feel bad for not knowing. kjr2016 17 Posted June 25, 2016 Serious answer: I'm trying to tell you something about my life Maybe give me insight between black and white The best thing you've ever done for me Is to help me take my life less seriously, it's only life after all Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable And lightness has a call that's hard to hear I wrap my fear around me like a blanket I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it, I'm crawling on your shore. I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain There's more than one answer to these questions pointing me in crooked line The less I seek my source for some definitive The closer I am to fine. And funny answer: She blew my nose, and then she blew my mind
Lema 236 Posted June 26, 2016 "My clumsiest dear, whose hands shipwreck vases, At whose quick touch all glasses chip and ring, Whose palms are bulls in china, burs in linen, And have no cunning with any soft thing Except all ill-at-ease fidgeting people: The refugee uncertain at the door You make at home; deftly you steady The drunk clambering on his undulant floor. Unpredictable dear, the taxi drivers’ terror, Shrinking from far headlights pale as a dime Yet leaping before apopleptic streetcars— Misfit in any space. And never on time. A wrench in clocks and the solar system. Only With words and people and love you move at ease; In traffic of wit expertly maneuver And keep us, all devotion, at your knees. Forgetting your coffee spreading on our flannel, Your lipstick grinning on our coat, So gaily in love’s unbreakable heaven Our souls on glory of spilt bourbon float. Be with me, darling, early and late. Smash glasses— I will study wry music for your sake. For should your hands drop white and empty All the toys of the world would break." HopeandAgony 566 Posted June 26, 2016 I also like Rascal Flatts, "I've dealt with my ghosts, and faced all my demons. Finally content with a past I regret. I've heard you find strength in your moments of weakness. For once I'm at peace with myself. I've been burdened with blame, trapped in my past for too long. I'm movin on." KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 27, 2016 Another favorite... Best version is Warren Haynes - Live at Bonaroo! Soulshine... When you can't find the light, That got you through the cloudy days, When the stars ain't shinin' bright, You feel like you've lost you're way, When those candle lights of home, Burn so very far away, Well you got to let your soul shine, Just like my daddy used to say. He used to say soulshine, It's better than sunshine, It's better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain. Hey now people don't mind, We all get this way sometime, Got to let your soul shine, shine till the break of day. I grew up thinkin' that I had it made, Gonna make it on my own. Life can take the strongest man, Make him feel so alone. Now and then I feel a cold wind, Blowin' through my achin' bones, I think back to what my daddy said, He said "Boy, in the darkness before the dawn:" Let your soul shine, It's better than sunshine, It's better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain. Yeah now people don't mind, We all get this way sometimes, Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day. Sometimes a man can feel this emptiness, Like a woman has robbed him of his very soul. A woman too, God knows, she can feel like this. And when your world seems cold, you got to let your spirit take control. Let your soul shine, It's better than sunshine, It's better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain. Lord now people don't mind, We all get this way sometimes, Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day. Oh, it's better than sunshine, It's better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain. Yeah now people don't mind, We all get this way sometimes, Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.

BigViffer 3,544 Posted June 27, 2016 Just found this thread, and it's so cute! Everyone has these happy and uplifting lyrics! However, I'm over here like: Revenge I'm screaming revenge again Wrong I've been wrong for far too long Been constantly so frustrated I've moved mountains with less When I channel my hate to productive I don't find it hard to impress Possessed - I feel a conquering will down inside me Strength - The strength of many to crush you might stop me My strength is in numbers And my soul lies in every one The releasing of anger can better any medicine under the sun Of course the bolded text is also what I have for my signature line, so this is nothing new. There are more lyrics to the song, but those excerpts are the ones that have resonated with me for 20 years.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted June 27, 2016 My favorite lyrics can be found in garages, on the street, on the drag strip, a circle track... you get the idea. If it's 8 cylinders, loud and has lots of horsepower it is playing my favorite song. I literally just took this photo a couple of minutes ago as I was walking out of my office. This is the shirt that I was wearing under my work shirt. Although I probably shouldn't admit this I do love the song of two lovely cylinders as well. This is not my bike, mine is currently broken :-( I did however "borrow" this bike yesterday from my coworker after he went home. I took it up a nice twisty road and had a lot of fun while getting it over a hundred plus miles an hour multiple times. I'm not always the brightest one. Damn horsepower! It is addictive... I think you can give @@Dub and @@OKCPirate and @@BigViffer a run for their money in the "studmuffin" department. Just sayin. Yes, I know I've forgotten others. Sue me, I'm old.
