Roller coaster journey.

Recommended Posts

My weight gain journey began in May, 2013. I was exposed to black mold a few months prior in our master bathroom of a house we had just purchased. Unaware of it of course. May 2013, I had to have half of my right lung removed. After the lung removal I was forced to take nine months of oral steroids. During this nine months I gained another person in weight.

September 2014, I was well enough to finally have the sleeve done. I tried to lose the weight on my own but anyone who has been on steroids for that length of time knows it is nearly impossible. I have since lost that extra person I gained. And couldn't be happier. The first picture was taken by my surgeon the week before surgery. The second picture was taken last week.

My starting weight at surgery time was 222. My current weight is 125, as of this morning. I am 5'4 1/2. post-232531-14667955859969_thumb.jpg

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
