I can't remember - it's all a fog before coffee...............

probably a month? at first it kinda gave me a sour stomach, and I only had a little bit and then waited a while to have more. now I have a cup of coffee with stevia and fairlife milk/half and half blend most days when I am at work. I do love coffee......... mmmmmmmm coffee......

first the coffee, and then I do the things........

My plan says no caffeine ever again :( :(

Occasionally I have a Decaf coffee with milk and stevia but that's it.

Yesterday I would have told you I am a sleever who cannot tolerate coffee. I am going on 8 months and couldn't stomach more than a couple sips. Very sad because coffee was my passion and only addiction prior too surgery. I was allowed coffee by my surgeon relatively quickly but I couldn't drink it!! Well that changed yesterday morning. I bought some low acid coffee on Amazon called pure roast. Success! I drank a whole cup! I felt so good and jittery ... Boy did I miss that feeling.

Of course one needs to follow their own bariatric plan....

Now, to answer your question. ;)

I had coffee --just sips---the day I had surgery.

coffee was figured into my bariatric journey from step #1. My Nut, surgeon and therapist were all aware and approved the final decision.

Ask your team. It never hurts to ask.

Best wishes .

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
