bosslayde 0 Posted June 24, 2016 I had gastric bypass revision on June 6th. I lost 16 pounds after surgery and have not lost a pound since. I'm very frustrated. Is this normal? Are my expectations out of whack? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
Djmohr 6,965 Posted June 24, 2016 Really, you are frustrated already? LOL... Your body has lost 16lbs already! That is really great! You have to be patient with this process. You did not gain it overnight and you won't lose it that way either. There will be many many stalls over the period you lose. As you get closer to your goal it will really slow down so you have to be patient and stay off the scale if it is going to freak you out so quickly. Your body has to take breaks in between losing, just stick to the plan and your weight will come off. The first stall happens around week 3. You are right on track. Best of luck! miiasan 370 Posted June 24, 2016 I had a huge stall only one week after surgery - sometimes your body just needs to catch up. As long as you are following your doctor and NUT plan, everything will be just fine - don't stress. I am eight months out - and have actually spent more time stalled than losing - I would lose about 10 pounds - then nothing for weeks - then another 10 pounds. if you note my stats below, though - I am getting close to goal. Relax and try not to get discouraged - It will happen. A lot of times when I wasn't losing pounds I was shedding inches - Maybe that helps if you look at it that way. Good luck with your weight loss!
