Are you making your own broth/? That really ups the taste. AND will keep the sodium down.

Also, try adding some Nutritional Yeast to the broth. It will add more savory tastiness to the broth. It will taste like "croutons" without adding anything to the texture. You will still only have "broth".

Tomorrow--big day! What are you adding for Protein? Time to think out of the box...

Wish you well and a joyful WLS journey.

I nine days out and I'm killing the broth too. I kinda jazz it up a bit so I don't get bored. Each person is different. I know people who can't keep down the Protein drinks. Whatever works and stays down keep doing it.

Ah thanks ladies!!! I stocked up on premier Protein right before the surgery and my NUT told me in my last appointment that she doesn't recommend them because of the ingredients . I'm still debating ... Every post and person I have followed has swore by premier . I would prefer something pre made on the go...

BTW, the fact you don't feel full is why they tell you don't drink with your meals. Liquids tend to go straight through your sleeve. Liquids on top of solids tends to push it out of your stomach, and you lose the first step of digestion of key nutrients. And if it's out of your stomach it tends to help you over eat down the road. (hint, hint - we really are here to help people succeed beyond their wildest dreams).

Thanks for all the responses guys! I got my sleeve in Mexico and I appreciate the feedback although I know my doc is only an email away I don't want to seem silly asking these little things

Honestly I find the Premier Protein fandom kind of offputting. I'm convinced they are paying people to post about it on here!

So my mom used the premier Protein shakes and she loves them, we only drink the chocolate. I bought some and stocked up in hopes to get a surgery date soon, I've slowly been replacing Breakfast and lunch or Snacks with them but they kinda taste like feet lol probably just me but I can only drink them on ice, and I don't always feel full after one

Why doesn't she like premier? My surgeon specifically recommended premier.

This is another one that the doctors and NUTs are all over the place. My NUT didn't approve any Protein supplement that had whey or soy protein concentrate.....or hydrolyzed Gelatin, or collagen protein... I can't remember for sure now but I think the Premier had concentrate. In fact I never found any pre-made that didn't have protein concentrate.

I followed those instructions right at first but did decide pre-made easier and better....I used the EAS brand.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
