rimmarrufo 44 Posted June 27, 2016 My bypass surgery was Monday, June 20, 2016, so I am 4 days out from surgery. I think a nurse told me that I could drink Crystal Light after surgery, but I don't see this on my food list. However, they served me Crystal Light in 1 ounce portions while in the hospital. Crystal Light has aspartame and it's my understanding that the body processes aspartame just like sugar. I don't want to experience dumping. Anybody been told they can or can't drink Crystal Light after surgery? I havent drank and crystal lite. I actually Water down the Isopure 2,ounce Isopure and 2 ounces of Water and it is,not bad and there is no after taste This help me get my water and Protein in. KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 27, 2016 Crystal light does have aspartame in it even the single serve packets. I was checking them today cause I'm sick of Water. But I've found since cutting out soda most flavored drinks are becoming too sweet. I did end up buying the propel single serve packets. They don't have aspartame in them. However it says to add one packet to 16.9 fl, so I added two to my 32 oz bottle and it was still way too sweet next I'm going to try with just one packet. emkurth 2 Posted June 6, 2022 I recently had a conversion surgery from the lapband to the sleeve. I was told that Crystal Light was okay to drink and was drinking a gallon a day. I hit a weight loss stall and got to thinking about something that I had heard before about the aspartame in Crystal Light is bad for you and can stall weight loss and well as cause health issues. I did some research...google searches and read doctor's reports and other patient's posts about it. I decided to stop the Crystal Light and switch to lemon Water. It is true for me at least...every person is different... but I feel much better and the weight is dropping again. I was getting hunger pangs when drinking the Crystal Light throughout the days and I have noticed that with lemon water that is not happening. As I said everyone is different and biologies are different but getting off of the Crystal Light has been a positive for me. 2 riverlady241 and Esi reacted to this
Esi 179 Posted June 7, 2022 The Crystal Light I use has no caffeine. I would like to find a similar sweetener that has zero sugar, and is made with something like Stevia (not Aspartame). Any ideas?
