Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

I'm not HUNGRY, but I am getting a little BORED...

Recommended Posts

I DID get the go ahead to move forward a little yesterday when I called to make post-op check up! So I had some bean Soup last night, but had my first -- ALMOST -- golf ball today trying to eat some grits. Got in too big of a hurry cause they were SOOO good. Had to lift my hands over my head and pray for a few moments!

When I need to slow down, I turn my spoon over and my "bites" turn to licks. I'm venturing out to the store today to examine everything on the soup aisle that might be good blended.

btw -- what do you have against frogs??

;)

Right there with you again. :phanvan I ate a bowl of cheese soup today. (An old fav from my days in Wisconsin.) About an hour later I took the dog to the dog park when my .... ummm.... Lower digestive tract ... decided that I had not had anything that thick or fatty in weeks.;) And of course there is no bathroom at the dog park. I barely made it home in time. Very scary and I still feel sick. :sick

As for the name, it's because I am mad (as in crazy) about frogs, not mad (as in angry) at frogs. I love 'em. I have them all over my house. I even have a French Bulldog which are often called Frog Dogs because they look like frogs/toads.

the mad frog lady.

LOL

I was teasing you about the name. I knew what you meant because my oldest daughter has been "mad" about frogs for a long time!

I was banded on Tuesday Aug 21 so I am only 3 days out. For 2 days I had liquids I could read a newpaper through, but on day 3 (today) I went to liquids you could get through a straw. Woo-Hoo I had some Tomato juice. Man it was like heaven. I have missed tomatoes for weeks and they one of my favorite foods. I also tried some Cream of Wheat thinned and it was not too bad either. I am also heading to the store to shop for Soup ideas. That potato/cheese sounds really good.

How are you ladies feeling? I have some pain, but nothing like I expected. I also have been burping alot. Unexpected large burps, is that normal?

Normal, and good, after surgery! I burped and burped for about five days afterwards.

Spedsqsalady---Glad you came through good; knew you would. Those tomatoes sound so good. For some reason, I had a strong craving for a Tomato. Probably a BLT!!!!!!!!! I will have my surgery tomorrow on the 27th. I will be so happy to graduate to cream of wheat!!! I never thought I would look forward to cream of wheat. Keep me posted as to how you are doing. You are a few days ahead of me on this journey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
