Candygyrl 637 Posted July 12, 2016 I feel great as well and hitting my 2 week mark this Friday. My surgeon said i could start working out immediately slowly building up to a recommended 30 min brisk walking daily. @4 weeks, resistance training may begin. These are my instructions yours may be different doesn't hurt to wait at least 4 weeks and slowly ease your way into it. . I feel great as well and hitting my 2 week mark this Friday. chycky 671 Posted July 12, 2016 Yeah like everyone said surgeon and team will tell you. I went for my two week appt and asked if I could do light workouts and they looked at me like I was crazy. "Um no your healing and internal sutures need to fully heal." I was allowed to start (next week) light (no arms!) movement on elliptical at 4 weeks and then all back to normal at 6. Swimming was also not until 6 due to submersion early on and strain on abs.
rebecca wills 190 Posted July 13, 2016 I was told that I may start daily activities, to include walking at first and light exercise as tolerated. Also told to listen to my body. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
higher 966 Posted July 13, 2016 I'm only 6 days post-op but at my surgeons visit yesterday he told me to begin light cardio and light weight lifting that won't engage my core. He said he'll clear me for all exercise starting at one or month post.
