AWD12368 30 Posted June 22, 2016 Has anyone had a baby after getting the sleeve? I am at my goal weight and my husband and I want another baby. But I'm afraid that I will gain everything back and be back at square one. Help Please
KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 22, 2016 There's a forum related to pregnancy I believe. How long have you been at goal? My surgeon recommends waiting 18-24 months after surgery.
Sophie74656 1,572 Posted June 22, 2016 Pregnancy weight is temporary. If you eat healthy you shouldnt gain that much weight.

I haven't talked to my surgeon about my oral contraception yet (it would be just my luck to get pregnant at 48 years old!) CallMeTee 77 Posted June 27, 2016 My surgeon said to avoid pregnancy for a year. After 16 years of trying, not sure we can wait that long...
CaPoppy 22 Posted June 27, 2016 My Drs said 24 months until you should start trying. Although I have a friend that got pregnant right after she was a year out, so I guess not everyone listened. I'd think it would be important to be at goal longer than 1 month before you try to get pregnant. You could get lucky and get pregnant right away. Losing weight quickly and then gaining again might make it harder post-baby to lose weight again. My drs said that people who get pregnant before 2 years out tend to gain more weight overall and find it harder to reach their goal weight (post baby). Like I was saying to my hubs the other day, "I'm still learning how to feed myself, I'm nowhere near ready to eat for 2!" LOL It's just that we've been trying for what feels like forever, and to have to wait even longer...it's exhausting.

I know you are being funny, but if you have the mindset of eating for two you'll end up gaining too much weight. You only need a few hundred extra calories, and really not even at the beginning. Luckily you'll be able to meet that need with a Protein shake
