LACRACRA2 58 Posted June 22, 2016 I start my two weeks of shakes tomorrow. Really nervous. Surgery is 7/6/16. Any tips? Positive vibes needed. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone
anniebanana 167 Posted June 22, 2016 I tried the Premier chocolate and didn't care for it. The vanilla is okay. I bought some Mio drops to add to it for a change of pace, kind of creamsicle-ish. The Atkins chocolate is pretty good. My physical therapist suggested adding peppermint essential oils and ice and making a chocolate mint shake, which I am going to try later this week. I also have ordered Syntrax nectar in grapefruit and fuzzy navel...should have done it sooner so I'd have it now, but this week snuck up on me. Are you on all shakes, or do you get any solids? Sophie74656 1,572 Posted June 22, 2016 My main tip is that it is going to suck. Be ready for that. You will be hungry and crave food. But stick to it. The end results are so worth it. Good luck!!!
LACRACRA2 58 Posted June 22, 2016 @@Sophie74656 keeping it real. Thank you. Got to be mind over matter. Sent from my iPhone
LACRACRA2 58 Posted June 22, 2016 @@anniebanana I have to do the shakes from my doctors office I picked chocolate. We will see tomorrow how they taste. I can have up to five a day if I choose to for these two weeks but they are expensive so I'm hoping to stick to 3 or 4 per day. I can have Water, broth. I can add fresh fruit to the shakes (to blend) or fruit in 100% juice. No solids for 4 weeks or longer. Two week pre op liquid diet. After surgery is two week liquids. GTO315 26 Posted June 22, 2016 If I use the Syntrax nectar in Lemon Tea. I usually mix it with Water. To give it a flavor boost, I sometimes mix in a bit of Crystal Light. Or, I will brew a tea, such as Celestial Seasons Lemon Ginger, let it cool and mix it with the nectar.< /p> Sent from my KFARWI using the BariatricPal App
GTO315 26 Posted June 22, 2016 If the taste of your chocolate Protein powder isn't fabulous, you can mix it with unsweetened chocolate almond milk to make it extra chocolatey. Sent from my KFARWI using the BariatricPal App
