Has anyone else noticed how amazing we all look in our profile pics?

For people who have large amounts of weight to lose, we all sure look amazing in our profile pics! We might not have mastered the whole eating thing, but we sure know how to find the best angles for our selfies :D Can't wait to see how great everyone looks 6 months to a year from now!

It's very clear that many WLS patients are world-class yo-yo dieters.

And their avatars are their skinny pix.

;)

I think from the neck down I look a lot better, but there is no denying that I look old in the face. I've also noticed that even though I did not have any issue with hair loss, my has silvered drastically this past year. Don't know if it is related or coincidence.

I'd post me at my worst as my avi pic......but there's no way all that flab would fit within the confines of the tiny avi pic spot.

That's why I put it in my profile pics. Fat, tired, hurting and about broke down......just 8 months ago. No flattering angles....just a front and side pics of a guy who was ready to break free from that and reclaim his health and activity level.

Now......life is much improved. I can't even begin to imagine how much better it gets by Summer 2017.

Yup.....everyone please keep the faith and stick to your plans. You will be so glad you did. Life gets so much more fun and easy when the pounds melt away.

Lol my profile pic wasn't one from a yo yo diet or at my thinnest. My profile pic was taken about 2 weeks ago at my heaviest. It's a face shot. You don't see me posting full body shots...yet! Surgery is August 22nd!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
