Christmas Tree Trimming Party

Recommended Posts

OK every year I have a Christmas Tree Trimming party at my house. Last year we had a 9 ft tree. The year before we had a 13 ft tree. The only requirement is that you bring one ornament to put on the tree. Sorta leaving something of you behind. Nice sentiment I think.

Anyway, I think the date will be either Dec 18th Saturday or Dec 19th Sunday. If you want to come and help just let me know. I live in Van Nuys, CA and can put up about 6 people comfortably if you don't mind sharing a bed with someone.

Just a thought.

Here is what the tree looked like last year.

Penni, that tree is GORGEOUS! What a lovely tradition. Too bad I live so far away -- I'd love to come to your party. Make sure and take pictures when it's done, okay? So I can enjoy it vicariously?

Best of luck to you tomorrow, Fran. I'll be thinking of you.

Penni-

I know I can't make it to the party, but I'd love to send an ornament for the tree. I'd love to know that there is a bandster tree out in the world sending good, joyful Karma to all of those still struggling.

I'm getting sentimental...Christmas always does it to me.

Just send me your address and I'll find a perfect ornament. Great idea, by the way!

Megan

OK I agree GREAT IDEA MEGAN.

If you are interested in sending me an ornament to put on the tree then send me an email at Penni60@aol.com and I will reply with my mailing address.

The party will be on the 19th of December so I would need the ornaments by then. I can always add them later if they come after that but it would be nice to put them on that day.

One other thing please place your name somewhere on the ornament so I know who it is from. This is so exciting. I will post a pic of everyone's ornament once it is on the tree. Then I will post a pic of the whole tree once decorated. I am all verklempt now. So emotional. LOL!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
