My surgery was just changed to 4/10! Soo soon!

Hey Cici,

I was at the pre surgery classes with you. The quiet one that kept to herself, lol. Anyway we have the same surgery date now that you changed yours! Are you on Instagram?

I would call today to set up the next step. Don't wait!

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I emailed Dr. Z last week, made a appt to see him. Yesterday I went in and spoke with him and everything was great. He then set me up to see Liz right after and got set up with a surgery date (4/24). She asked if I wanted to do it next week, but that is just tooo soon and not enough time for notice with my job. I am just very thankful that everything worked out and I will soon be in the losers club.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
