Hey guys. So I'm totally freaking out. I was sleeved on 3/30/16. Was doing great up until last week, I've plateaued so bad. SW- 256 CW-202. I can't seem to move away from it. And I notice I can eat more at one sitting, this happen to any one else? Do you guys think I stretched my sleeve out already? I got another 60 years to live with this thing!

You are supposed to be able to eat more, it is called healing. You are not supposed to have the restriction you have at the beginning forever. If you are eating Protein first, weighing your food and eating the proper portions, you will start losing again.

Stalls happen, just make sure that you are measuring yourself during stall, because you are usually dropping inches. For example, I have been hovering at the same weight for 3 weeks or so but I have lost a size almost in that time period. Weight loss for me goes pounds, inches and a stall, pounds, inches and a stall, pounds. I kind of like the stalls now because I get visibly smaller during these time periods and my skin adjusts.

Thank you so much. You made me feel so much better. My shorts are looser on me so that explains that! I just wonder when I'm gonna lose the lb's again

I don't know why but my weight loss stopped at about 202-201. it was so maddening! why not stop just below 200? right? it was messing with my mind a lot. but I just kept doing what I knew to do and in about 2 weeks it moved again. I don't think you've stretched anything out - but more likely your internal swelling is going down and it is a sign that you are healing up - and your body may be focused on that.

So, here is what I do when my body hits pause.

I use map my walk to track my work outs (there are other programs out there too) and so for a few days I will measure/weigh my food and track it. once I am assured that I am not eating too many calories then I relax and let my body do it's thing. but I will admit it is a lot easier to be patient on the bottom side of 200 than the top side of it.

Yes I don't understand why it can't be 199! Lol. I do track, I track everyday-well at least try to. Even though I'm 3 months out there was internal swelling? I guess recovery really does take a long time

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
