magoosmom 115 Posted June 19, 2016 I think I am lucky in that my surgeon only requires 4 days of liquids (low carb for a week before that). The last day is Clear Liquids only. I'm in the middle of mine (day 3) and have found that the Protein shakes do fill me up for a bit. I do feel like, whether because of head hunger or because it's liquids, I want to eat more often. I'm just going with it honestly. Here's how mine has been: Morning: coffee; Protein shake (using Optimum Nutrition and 8 ounces of water; sometimes add Torani sugar-free Syrup to change the flavor) Lunch: strained soup---picked lots of flavors and strain them when I'm ready and an Atkins Lift drink Afternoon: SF Jello or SF Popsicle Dinner: Protein Shake and strained Soup After Dinner: SF Jello and/or SF Popsicle (this tends to be the time when I feel the hungriest) I've been chewing gum/brushing teeth when I am "hungry" but know it's probably just head hunger. Usually quells the temptation. The first day, I had a lot more Soup and felt hungrier, but it was easier yesterday.

Dave D 35 Posted June 19, 2016 The first two or three days are the worst.... once the hunger pains go away, it isn't too bad. Find a few different choices for Protein so you don't get burned out because, after surgery, you will have a few more weeks of the liquid diet as well.... stay away from the kitchen as much as possible because, there is a lot of temptation there.... it will go by quick... my 2 week post op appointment is Wednesday... I'll be starting pureed food soon... once you see the weight start dropping with the liquid diet, you will feel better about it.... good luck....
