Lotion with Vit. E AND Keratin?

Recommended Posts

I saw this in the FAQ: "Make sure you’re using a moisturizing lotion withVitamin E and Keratin several times daily." I immediately added it to my list of things to find (LOL). I went first to Walmart and couldn't find anything with both. I ended up buying Palmer's Firming Lotion. I then researched online but also had trouble finding a lotion with both items.

Has anyone found one that fits this that they liked? Does anyone have experience with the Palmer's?

My skin is already in rough shape--lots of stretch marks, bumpy, etc.--so I am trying to minimize how bad the weight loss is going to affect it.

Thanks!

I just use coconut oil, makes my skin feel very nice and stays feeling nice a long time.

I'm definitely going to follow this one.. I need to find some lotion too. Anyone losing those extra chins and being left with a crapey waddle? I'm not so thrilled about this part of the weight loss lol.

Just get a Keratin lotion and then add Vitamin E oil to it and mix it up. My Dr recommended Vitamin E oil and it really helped.

If you can afford it and you have a Sams membership, you can get a big bottle of bio oil from Sams. You will probably use a bottle a month or every 3 weeks, so you have to think about it you want to spend that much.

Thanks for the suggestions! I didn't think about making my own lotion (keratin lotion and adding vit. e)--that's a great idea!

I have added Bio Oil to my list of things to get. My parents have a Sams Club membership but it's an hour away. I will have to see if they are making a trip soon. The reviews on it are amazing. I am anxious to try it.

Thanks again! I feel better about trying to keep my skin as firm as possible after surgery.

What does the Bio Oil do for your skin?

@

It helps heal scars, it helps with your skin overall. I put it on all the areas of skin I am trying to firm up. It works, and it helps diminish stretch marks, I think just because your skin overall improves.

I am using a dab on my eyes at night to prevent crows feet.

I have been using Nivea Skin Toning and Firming Gel. I have a link below but I got mine at Walmart. It really seems to help. I also use it on my neck and have seen a big difference in my double chin! PRIASE JESUS FOR THAT! LOL

I started using natural oils few years back so we have raw shea butter and pure coconut oil (for hair and body) and moroccan argan oil for my face and feet at night. My skin is so much softer and moisturised, and my wife says i smell delicious. Lol

I have been using shea butter and coconut oil forever and while they are nice with holding in moisture, they have done absolutely nothing for stretch marks. Not like bio oil and some other things I have tried.

@@OutsideMatchInside I've been using shea butter and coconut oil forever also and you're right, does nothing for stretch marks. I even whip the Shea butter and it's just good for moisturizing and making your skin smooth.

Avocado oil, Jamaican castor oil, coconut oil, Shea butter, and Moroccan oil all whipped together is great on the hair.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
