Dr K.,

Just back from dog route march. Sopping wet but appeared to have survived English monsoon. Relevant bits all seem to be in working order. WD 40 on stand-by just incase of any rust setting in.

Quick pic of swan that I saw whilst walking by the Long Water at Hampton Court Palace (I only ever walk in classy locations like Royal Parks!!!) for all the girls to oooh and ahhhhh over.

Oh for the love of God, jintycb...

Where the f*ck is your question???

This is not a chat room...

This is not your SpaceBook...

Nor is it your Twatter!!!

How about you and your goose take your pommy arse and....

Well, I don't know...

But keep your jibber-jabber out of my very serious medical thread...

NEXT!!!!

Oooooooohhhhh Dr KF, there was I thinking that I was providing some soothing pictures for your patients and their stressed and frazzled psyches. Not according to you I'm not!!! Well Buster, just let me tell you, after a consultation with you it's not just their physical health that is in jeopardy!!!! I'm surprised that you don't dole out straight jackets out with each diagnosis as you quite obviously leave a trail of gibbering wrecks in your diagnostical wake.

No wonder you're hanging up your stethoscope and forceps for a while. It's not that you are too busy to carry on practicing (and God knows, you needed all the practice that you can get!) it's because you know that your reign as a medical charlatan is OVER. Finished, ceased, no more.

Now, what are you going to pretend to be next, hmmmmmmm? The mind boggles. Donald Trump's campaign manager maybe?

x

You mean he isn't? If not, it has to be Dr. Kindafamiliar's idiot cousin. ;-)

Am I too late for the doctor????

Doctor KF, I enter packaged foods into MFP by scanning the bar code. My Quest Protein bars (AUS) come up as 5 grams carbs.

The other day I searched instead of scanned (had thrown out the wrapper) and the US and Canadian bars came up as 23 grams Carbs?

Are carbs not counted the same across the world?

Fat chance you've got of getting a reply. I think he's having a mega sulk as we've exposed him for his lack of creditable qualifications.

However, in his defence (God help me, I must be feeling charitable) he has the ability to make even the most world weary cynic laugh. He's worked his weird, warped, magical humour on me to the point I have spluttered out a gob full of tea (what a waste) and made me expel snot when I had a cold a couple of weeks ago.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
