My surgery is coming up on June 27th and I start my liquid diet Monday. I am very nervous and I don't know if it's just the nerves or my habit of overthinking everything. But I keep getting a feeling that I'm making the wrong decision going threw with this. Or that I won't be able to do it. Did anyone else feel like this before their surgery? Does anybody have any regrets about having it done?

My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

The beginning is tough but before long it'll be just a memory. Good luck to you!

I had recently got sleeved and I started to overthink and worry as my date got closer. I thought I wouldn't be able to have my fav dishes again...I thought something would go wrong.. I thought to myself "am I really ready for this?" But yes..I was.. I haven't had any complications. It's just a tool to get you started on your weight loss journey. .. that's how I see it now ???? before I went into the OR I cried because I was scared. But u knew I wanted and needed this and I also remembered my dad went through a bigger surgery than I was about to go through and he came out fine... I think if your really ready you'll know but thst over thinking is normal..good luck ????

I always ask myself have I exhausted every Avenue to lose weight possible... I have. I think it's perfectly normal to question yourself about this surgery. This is life CHANGING!!! Which is so scary to those of us who have used food for comfort etc... your making the right decision... keep moving forward. What do you have to lose by getting the surgery? Nothing at all!!

I had worries before and regrets right after, but it was all worth every minute. I would not change a thing.

I lost 26 pounds in the first 30 days after my op. I m almost 5 weeks out. I still can't eat much but I feel so much better. As for being afraid I think we all are before surgery. Regrets, none. So far. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
