sassy sleeved, I know the 2 options are Royal Oak & Troy? I've never been to Royal Oak. Troy is closer to me & I love Troy, its really nice. Is Royal Oak nice too? Wondering why some people choose Royal Oak over Troy?

I am closer to Troy, too, but had my surgery in Royal Oak. My surgeon, Chengelis, goes between both and he was in RO on the date I wanted. Either one is totally fine.

I'm being revised from band on October 18th at Troy by Krause. He did my LapBand at Royal Oak. Troy is so much closer to home so I was happy to have the VSG scheduled there.

I'm 2 days out post op. Definitely harder than I expected. Im starving so my stomach hurts from hunger pains and when I sip in anything, hurts going down. I'm hoping this goes away eventually? I throw up the liquid pain meds bc its so Gross and doesn't sit in my tummy well, it hurts to throw up. Whats the average amount of days your in pain for post op surgery? An estimate?

I didn't have any pain post op. I filled my prescription for pain medicine but never used it for the sleeve surgery. Glad I had the meds though because I started getting gout attacks left and right and those pain pills worked well.

For those who were sleeved by Krause how did you keep your belly button clean? I notice a slight odor from it. I shower daily with Dial and pat dry so I don't know. Did you actually go inside and clean it out? I'm 11 days post.

Michigan Sleevers: For those who went through Beaumont's Weight Control Program, during the time you were going through all the testing & appointments, did you lose weight? At my first dr. appointment, he said he wanted me to lose 10% of my weight before surgery. This isn't an insurance requirement, just a target he wanted me to go for. I started losing but then totally went off the bandwagon. My final dr. appointment is this week and I am terrified he will reject me bc I am not losing. This is the appointment where the dr. Approves or disapproves me going forward to meet with the surgeon. Help! What were your experiences?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
