What are some things you want to do.....

Recommended Posts

I am 6 months post op and no where close to goal but I am down 85 pounds. I would really like to ride on a Harley this summer. I finally feel my a$$ would fit on the seat now. I just need to find someone to give me a ride.

I want to go to an amusement park. I can now, but I want to go and sit in the rides and not wonder how tight it's going to be.

Congrats on your progress! I hope you get to take that ride someday lol.

My goals are:

1. Going to an amusement park and not avoiding the fun rides because I don't think i'll fit

2. Kayaking without worrying if the kayak will tip over haha

3. Shopping in regular stores and trying on clothes in store, because they carry my size

4. Not being embarrassed walking up a flight of steps with other people because my breathing is so bad (this one has already kind of been fixed after losing 76lbs)

I went on a Segway tour on a cruise excursion recently. It was so nice to be far below the weight limit. I plan to go to an amusement park around by birthday and ride every roller coaster without fear of not fitting. I am also planning to go white Water rafting with my adult kids later this summer with no fear of the life vest not fitting. Another item on my list is to go horse back riding.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
