cseidman 175 Posted June 16, 2016 Yay! Just got home from a follow up appt with my surgeon and I have the all clear for all sorts of fun. Once again, I get to take baths, swim, exercise (besides just walking), and have sex. I can advance off the soft food phase and start the "diet for life". I can add one new food a day and just see how my body responds to it. I don't really know where I want to start. The only issue to come up was that my blood pressure is pretty low, which explains why I'm always feeling so dizzy and lightheaded. He said it's probably related to lack of fluids, so now my Fluid goal has been increased to 70oz minimum per day. Phew, that's tough. So, now to decide what to do first - eat something new, drink something, exercise, take a bubble bath, or call my husband and tell him to come home and fool around with me. cseidman 175 Posted June 16, 2016 welcome to the rest of your life! looks like a FABULOUS weekend up ahead for you (both)! Thanks! I'm looking through recipes right now doing a bit of meal planning. Suddenly I feel motivated to cook. And I already told husband that he's entertaining the kids tonight while I take a long hot bath. Ah, the simple joys... Daisee68 2,493 Posted June 16, 2016 @@cseidman - Congrats! I love cooking now! I never did it before. Cooking for one can get very boring but now I really enjoy researching and then making healthy recipes. Enjoy your new "diet for life"! Oh and just a little tip - early on, sometimes I could eat a food one day and do fine and the next day it didn't go well. Never made sense. (I don't have that issue at 1 year post-op). So if you find something doesn't sit well, just put it on the back burner (so to speak) and try again in a few weeks. If it doesn't work once, it doesn't necessarily mean it is off the table forever. Lastly, my very first recipe was Ricotta Bake - http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html Shelly's Ricotta Bake 8 oz of Ricotta cheese1/2 cup grated Parmesan1 large Egg, beaten1 teaspoon Italian Seasoningsalt & pepper to taste1/2 cup Marinara Sauce1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.
