I was wondering if it's possible to know if a RNY was well performed using the images of the esophagram, I've been eating more than most people say they are doing at week 6 and this came to my mind. I'm uploading some images, I have the full study, if there is a doctor around who can help me with the interpretation would be great.

How much more can you eat at 6 weeks?

Also, there are so many variable that account for the different amounts people are eating. First and foremost is how the food is measured if at all. You have no idea if people are accurately measuring their food. Volume based measuring and scale based measuring rarely match. Then the moisture content of the food matters. You can I can have the exact same food in the same amount. If you reheat your food, you are going to extract more moisture from it so you will be able to eat less than I can because my food has more moisture content.

@@OutsideMatchInside my nutritionist program says 8 Oz Protein shake for Breakfast and dinner, 1cup of kinda regular food for lunch (low fat, low carbs), tuna salad, chichen Soup or something like that... and 2 Snacks in between 8 Oz of low fat yogurt and 1 cup of fruit.

I made a post asking about the portions and I got replays saying it was too much, now I'm afraid that my pouch might be bigger than it should.

How long does it take you? If you are eating these amounts in 20 minutes, that is a lot. If you are taking an hour or so that is different.

The one cup at lunch seems like a lot but the fluids seem right.

I cannot finish the Protein shakes and I really hate the taste, so I made some changes to compensate, I add Greek yogurt and powder milk, and I drink about 3/4 in the morning and the rest as snake before going to bed, lunch takes me 20 minutes if it's something like Soup and about 40 if it's dry food, I got worried because once I was having lentils soup and I realized it was more than a cup (maybe 1 1/2) , I didn't have any issue with it. On the beginning I was capable to just feel or know it was enough, never had the sneezing, hiccups or anything else, now I'm not sure if there is something that tells me to stop now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
