Drinking alcohol so early out is a risk to your stomach that is healing inside your body. Tissues are in a delicate state.

I had 1/2 of a bloody mary the other day at 2 weeks out and nothing happened.

Alcohol can cause bleeding this early out. In addition, it can cause dehydration (which is already a risk after WLS). Please be careful.

For some reason most people (mainly from the us) keep mentioning 6 months.. It must be what they advise over there, my doctor advised 6 weeks.. And I'm going to see beyonce on the 5th of July and I absolutely will be drinking with no fear. I'll do a trial run a few days prior to see what I can handle.. But I'd just ask your doctor.

Feel bad physically or mentally? Don't beat yourself up - move on and stick to your plan! There's certainly worse you could have "cheated" with.
i had some crackers and I feel mentally bad

I know the alcohol is not good this early I actually kind of ordered it without thinking. I have had such an easy time with surgery and no pain etc.... that I can forget the limitations

I saw the Formation tour 2 weeks ago and it was amazing. You are in for a treat! And some serious fitness inspiration as her choreography and body are mind blowingly strong.

Oh, she does lots of the classics. She goes way back to "Me, Myself, and I" and even goes back to Destiny's Child material a bit. You will not be disappointed. But you should try more to get into Lemonade! It will grow on you and she does some of the best songs from that album (even I don't like the country song though.)

The visuals are crazy....never seen a concert like it.

My surgeon said it was ok he just don't want me to have wasted calories and make it a habit. I am almost 6 weeks out I did try a drink last week I just did vodka because it low calorie and with ice Water and I added my zero calorie mix lol I did get a buzz from that 1 shot that took me like a hour to drink .I will only drink a shot maybe once every 2 months so I think I will be good on not messing my calorie intake

Take it from someone who likes alcohol... Don't do it lol... My cousin had her surgery done 13yrs ago and says she is still a cheap date after a glass of wine and doesn't realize it until to late sometimes.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
