jess9395 5,449 Posted June 15, 2016 Pain. Possible damage to your sleeve. The possibility of the alcohol hitting you so hard you pass out. I still can't have shots at 2.5 years out. Half a mixed drink or a glass of wine makes me pretty tipsy. A full cocktail and I probably couldn't walk straight. Then of course the calories. You asked for the repercussions so that's all I'm gonna say.
KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 15, 2016 What are the repercussions if you drink or do shots one month post op Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App I would not chance it. You risk bleeding especially at only a month post-op. It also effects people more after WLS and 1 shot may be the equivalent of having 4 shots prior to surgery. Lily461 33 Posted June 15, 2016 Do not do this!! Very dangerous!! If you are having issues with alcohol, please don't hesitate to reach out to your surgeon to get the right support! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
4MRB4PHOTO 3,900 Posted June 15, 2016 Have patience young grasshopper. In time you will be able to consume alcohol again (if you really want to), occasionally and in moderation.
Justaprettyface 45 Posted June 15, 2016 On a safe note : we are having a big party next month. We were trying to come up with our theme drink - and making samples. I chose to stay clear. My husband was trying to get me to take a shot to try, I wanted to prove to him it was not a wise choice. #ididntcaveintothepressure. Thank supporters for coming through Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
