Anyone gain then lose again?

Recommended Posts

I am 1 year and three months out. I went from 230 to lowest of 164. I'm now up to 174 (and that is after doing cross training 3 to 4 times a week plus jogging for 30 minutes every other day). I will admit I'm not following the plan as strictly as I used to but I'm not going crazy either. Anyway, want to get back on track before 10 pounds turns into 20 but it seems impossible to lose anymore! So curious if anyone gained weight and was successful again at losing?

It's difficult because it's not the same. You still have your sleeve working for you, but losing weight now will be slower.

Can you contact your Nut/Dietitian and brainstorm about a regime?

I am 5yrs out, still feel no hunger, still have my restriction, but even with all of those plusses the weight comes off sssssssllllllloooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyy. BUT, it does come off.

Seriously, I would call your "team" and "get back at it".

Good luck. Post often to let us know how your doing, please.

Prayers going up.

It's definitely still possible. You still have the same tool that helped you lose in the first place. Your mind sounds like it is in a different place, so getting at that might be the first place. Of course you can do it! You did it before, you still have the tool, and you know exactly how to do it. Just get back to the basics! :-)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
