lovelymilena 40 Posted June 14, 2016 So I've been seeing my primary care physician once a month for the past 5 months as a requirement for WLS. So today I find out that my doctor hasn't been coding those appointments correctly and only one of her notes mention weight loss! I'm so frustrated and I feel like my insurance isn't going to approve me now! I'm so close, July 1st was supposed to be the end of my 6 months and now I feel like I've hit a road block! My emotions are all over the place. I'm sad, I'm angry, I'm disappointed, and I really just feel like giving up. I feel hopeless now. ???? SalOdyssey 441 Posted June 14, 2016 Your Dr should be able to go back (I don't know how far) and amend those appointment notes.

KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 14, 2016 @@lovelymilena What did she code and document these visits as? I would insist she amend the records to include the reason you were there and what was discussed about weight loss and nutrition. If necessary - complain to your insurance company! I'm just really hoping after I meet with her Friday she can go back and amend the records. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App If she didn't properly document - she needs to amend them. Follow Up or Problem wouldn't necessarily be the code submitted to insurance. There should have been an obesity related diagnosis.

hartless 71 13 Posted June 15, 2016 Your doctor CAN amend those previous visits with the proper codes! You tell them that! My doctors always mess up codes and I even have to call the insurance company myself and ask what the code should be and then walk my doctor through it. It is so eerrrrr but don't be passive tell them to do it. Good luck ????
