SERIOUS question :)

Did it get better? worse?

easier. it got easier.

it's always been good, but the easier it gets to do the things I want to do, the more likely and more often I am inclined to do them. the more often I do them, the better it gets.

very happy with all the ways WLS has improved my life, this area right along with everything else.

Me too. It's easier, I can navigate more positions, and I feel better about myself and not so self-conscious. We even leave the light on now.

I'm pre surgery but I have to say that my wife majored in psychology with a large portion of the major being dedicated to abnormal sexualality. I swear that I'm a thesis paper in the making. We are quite passionate and sex is amazing. If it gets better than this I don't know if I will be able to walk again!

I've lost all sex drive it seems. Could be because I'm still early out. (5 weeks today).

I think it's because our hormones are all out of whack..I'm in the same boat as you at 5 months out. I'm hoping it returns soon

@@Tssiemer1 congrats on your surgery- I try to keep up with all the posts but I must have missed yours when you had your surgery. So happy for you. If I remember correctly you had a few bumps in the road that delayed your surgery a little bit (apologize if this wasn't you- I try to keep everyone's info stored in my brain and it's not as young as it used to be). So glad you are post op and doing good!!

Sorry for hijacking this thread!

BTW- sex is better than ever after surgery/weight loss.

Well, I'm unhappy that all my parts are now... deflated.

On the other hand, I can easily put my ankles behind my head. So that's a win.

It's better in every aspect.

Being all I can be and all that...........

It's simply not often enough and I find myself behaving more like a bull in a china shop.

For me ... it's ... worse :(

Before .. I just didn't want to be seen because of the weight ...

and now ...

I don't want to be seen because of all the skin hanging everywhere ...

Ugh.

My poor husband ... he doesn't know which way to go ...

Thank God he's patient ...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
