I started my liquid preop diet today and I do wonder how Im going to be able to do it. Is not so bad but my Protein Shake which I had to buy from my doctor for $200 which was a requirement is so nasty. Is chocolate but after like the 2nd gulp I want to throw it up. any advice would truly be appreciated.

Surgery day is June 28th

Do you have to do a certain Protein Shake? What are the requirements? Isagenix or spiratein shakes are good but I wonder in they have too many carbs or sugar grams.

I use almond milk and it's a lot better than skim milk. I'm supposed to have three 8 oz shakes a day. I take 7 oz of light vanilla Silk almond milk and 1 oz of dark chocolate almond milk and mix with my chocolate powder.

There exist a dark chocolate almond milk? Sounds fantastic. I always buy unsweetened vanilla almond milk. (30 calories)

I picked it up at Walmart and it is fantastic. It has more calories and sugar than the light Silk so that is why I only use an ounce to give it some flavor. I was told there was a light chocolate Silk but I can only find light vanilla Silk.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
