Nothing special. Tummy still makes gurgling noises after eating, probably just quicker after something sweet. I just ate a pork chop for lunch and am sitting at my desk just gurgling away.

If I eat just a wee bit, I can get flushed and have hot flashes.

If I eat anything overly sweet or rich I can go into a "dumping syndrome" episode.

Not fun.

What are your dumping symptoms?

At 2 1/2 years, I can eat any kind of fruit, but if I get bold and try a piece of birthday cake or dessert at some festivity, I had better be close to a toilet within an hour, because I will have a blow-out.

Most sugar I've had would either be no sugar added Fudge pops or no sugar added Italian ice, didn't really notice any affect.

The fatigue and extreme drowsiness happened to me when I ate vanilla ice-cream, for the first time, weeks post op.

And it made me feel unwell, also. Not nauseous, but very tired and unwell.

My NUT told me it was my introduction to dumping.

When I tried bit of chocolate at Easter, I woke up with Frothing/Foaming Reflux ...... burning, painful and scary!

Haven't eaten chocolate since .....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
