twinmomma1103,

This is a fantastic idea! I wish I would have done it.

Omg, I could have written this post. Especially when you said most women who are plus size have a shopping addiction. How true is that and I've always felt that way. I haven't had my surgery yet (2 weeks!!), but what I've started doing is selling my cute plus size clothes and using that money to buy brand new clothes when my weight has leveled off. So far I've made $400 and I barely put a dent in my closet! Lol but that's an idea for you if your like me with all those cute plus size clothes laying around

Where did you sell them? I tried ThredUp and got a lousy $20.88 for 16 really nice items - that ALL sold on their site! I'd rather give them away.

I sold them on local Facebook plus size clothing pages (so that saved me on shipping) and the pricy stuff I'm going to put on ebay (like the name brand jeans like silver or vigoss)

I'll probably donate some of my clothes and sell others, depending on their condition, where I bought them, etc.

So excited for a new wardrobe!

Well girls, I am having a ball buying great clothes and shoes. Small clothes. High shoes! Yay. I wear my scruffy clothes for walking the dogs every morning but after that I'm off on a closet raid. I NEVER bought clothes on-line before losing my lard but I've got two go-to sites and everything I've bought fits me beautifully. I'm loving being a girly again instead of a frumpy dollop!

Once i decided to get surgery I have only purchased one pair of $15 jeans - and that's because the one pair I had left ripped and I could no longer wear them.

I guess I'll look like crap for the next year and eventually buy a new wardrobe

I see nothing wrong with that. As long as you're responsible i.e not taking from your household, paying bills on time do what makes you happy.

I already know that I'm a shopper and not necessarily a bargain shopper so I have to plan for what's important to me. I take what I would spend on clothes/shoes monthly $75-$200. I have a special savings account that I put $50-$100 aside from every paycheck.

After surgery (scheduled 7/1) I will save for that 4-6 month mark when all my clothes will likely no longer fit to buy a few items to tie me over and then have my way once I reach goal. It's money I've started setting aside so it won't hurt my pockets later.

I won't spend it all at once because I have to account for the season changes but I'll have a nice cushion when the time comes. YOLO!

I bought jeggings on amazon!

They've served me good! They were cheap and looked like jeans and fit my body as it is shrinking.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
