Tragedy in Orlando

Recommended Posts

This is not WLS related but I wanted to send prayers to all those impacted by the terrorist attack in Orlando. 50 people have lost their lives and 52+ more injured - it's absolutely heartbreaking! I hope all our Bariatric Pal Family are safe as are your loved ones! Orlando Strong!

I'm watching this now... If we don't get whose coming into the country under control we can expect this to be occurring more often.. Use your vote in November wisely... Heartbreaking and prayers for all effected

Fact: The guy who killed and wounded these people was a natural-born American born in New York City.

Woah. You know the guy was born in NY and lived in Florida most of his life, right?

What a horrible, dangerous statement to make. I also noticed you quote Einstein EVERY TIME YOU POST. How ironic you feel the way you do about people coming into our country when the man you respect was a Jewish man born in Germany. What if we had blocked HIM from coming to the states???

Your attitude makes me physically ill. And keep your voting suggestions to yourself. Not necessary on this forum, period.

You should get the facts correct before forming your biases. I'm glad you aren't my children's teacher.

Our gay community continues to be savaged by many purporting to be acting on Gods behalf. Those who foment such hatred , no matter what religious stripe, bear responsibility in my humble opinion. My heart goes out to all the victims of ignorant violence all around the world, the majority of whom are innocent Muslims. Terror seeks to divide us we will not let that happen in this great country. United we stand.

Quoted for truth. It's unfortunate this thread was so swiftly politicized instead of focusing on the humanity of all involved in this massacre.

Wow.... that is horrible... i feel sorry for their friends and family... and for people who are close by who will now live in fear. . So sad...

As for the prejudice comment....

It pisses me off when the media label one entire race with the actions of a few individuals.

Its funny... going back 20 years you never heard the "T" word... now everything that happens is an attack..... these people who carry out the attack are nothing more than mentally ill, dangerous and brainwashed.

To tarnish an entire race, color or religion is just irresponsible and unfair to the majority of the law abiding good people who live there.

It saddens me that this type of reporting creates a divide amongst the people of the country and creates attitudes and comments like the one said earlier.... very sad that the world has come to this

We do not need partisanship or hatred towards a particular ethnicity. We need to unite as one people, the human race, and offer our compassion, help, thoughts and prayers for the victims, their families and loved ones.

This tragedy should NOT be used as a platform for political, religious, gun control or immigration agendas. It should NOT be used to push personal beliefs or biases.

It's a time to come together and support one another no matter your race, religion, gender, or sexual preference. You said it best @@4MRB4PHOTO .

The friends, family and loved ones of the Orlando victims are in my thoughts today. http://www.cityoforlando.net/blog/victims/

He was a wife-beating, homophobic, US citizen, who used an automatic weapon. What does this have to do with keeping people out of this country?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
