Lahey 4 Posted June 11, 2016 Hey folks I had the surgery on 6/9 and went home the very next day I feel really good is this okay? Gas is the only issue but I've been able to manage. Im already driving and drinking my fluids is a little bit of a challenge but if I take my time I can get it in. One of my tips for any newbie is to make sure you get plenty of exercise right before the surgery. Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted June 11, 2016 Most definitely feeling this good is OK. Congrats on landing one of those textbook WLS recoveries.
ironpoorer 88 Posted June 11, 2016 Your story parallels mine; a bit of gas the night after surgery; released next day. Good enough to go shopping for broth and Vitamins the next day; drove 6 hours home the next day and back to work on the next day Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
bdejong 30 Posted June 11, 2016 Not an issue at all. I was walking the halls the day of and went home the next day. I used the pain meds only a few days then tapered right off. The only issue I had the first week was what people call head hunger but that dissipated within a week. Fluids went down great and never had issues getting my Fluid and Protein goals met. It's perfectly normal to have a text book recovery. Embrace and enjoy it. Success will be greater if you simply do exactly as your doctor and NUT tell you too. Good luck and happy weight loss my friend. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App
Valentina 2,642 Posted June 11, 2016 Of course it is, you silly man! Just one word of caution: Remember you just had a major surgery. Be kind to yourself. Keep posting. Good news is always welcomed and needed. If and when the news is not so good, we want to hear about those times too. Maybe we can help. We'll try anyway. Prayers going up for a continued joyfu journey for you.
