Is it ok to feel this good!

Recommended Posts

Hey folks I had the surgery on 6/9 and went home the very next day I feel really good is this okay? Gas is the only issue but I've been able to manage. Im already driving and drinking my fluids is a little bit of a challenge but if I take my time I can get it in. One of my tips for any newbie is to make sure you get plenty of exercise right before the surgery.

Most definitely feeling this good is OK. :)

Congrats on landing one of those textbook WLS recoveries. :)

Your story parallels mine; a bit of gas the night after surgery; released next day. Good enough to go shopping for broth and Vitamins the next day; drove 6 hours home the next day and back to work on the next day

Not an issue at all. I was walking the halls the day of and went home the next day. I used the pain meds only a few days then tapered right off. The only issue I had the first week was what people call head hunger but that dissipated within a week. Fluids went down great and never had issues getting my Fluid and Protein goals met.

It's perfectly normal to have a text book recovery. Embrace and enjoy it. Success will be greater if you simply do exactly as your doctor and NUT tell you too.

Good luck and happy weight loss my friend.

Of course it is, you silly man!

Just one word of caution:

Remember you just had a major surgery. Be kind to yourself.

Keep posting. Good news is always welcomed and needed. :)

If and when the news is not so good, we want to hear about those times too. Maybe we can help. We'll try anyway.

Prayers going up for a continued joyfu journey for you.

Roll with it and love the new feels.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
