Thank you! I just got one for free from our benefits fair and I felt funny picking up....I must have had a premonition!

Anyone else have sage advice on what to bring?

My favorite things I took to the hospital was a small travel size pillow (got mine at Walmart). I was able to use this pillow to brace against my stomach when I walked and that really helped the pain.

Second fav thing was biotene mouthwash. My mouth was so dry and this is a moisturizing mouthwash and came in so handy!!

My favorite thing was my body pillow. It's the only thing that made that hard miserable bed comfortable enough to sleep in.

I had surgery yesterday and so far I think my favorite thing is the slippers I brought from home. The long hospital socks were uncomfortable and bulky. Mine are just ankle length slip free socks :)

Take a back scratcher! OMG this was the best decision I've ever made and that is no joke! You'll thank me later.

Naw, bro. I had my back scratcher show up in time to drive me home. :o

The absolute best thing I took with me into the hospital was a sense of humor. There were some funny moments that stay.

First off......you'd think in the bariatric ward of the hospital one could expect some larger gowns for the patients.

Nope.

All us fat folks were shuffling around with our arses hanging out the back. Just want I wanted to see and show as I was making my laps.

I got 'em back, though............I turned my gown around and rocked it backwards.

Damn rite.

Those pain meds & the open fronted breezy gowns had a weird effect, too...... Woodrow Wilson marched on proudly ahead of me on my laps.

I knew I'd be in a private room with a TV, so I brought my laptop loaded up with movies, and an HDMI cable to hook it to the TV. I didn't watch more than perhaps 10 minutes of the movies because after the surgery I was so tired I promptly fell asleep shortly after they started, but it kept my parents who came with me as my support team entertained.

The biggest help to me was a heating pad. I had ferocious cramps, and it helped so much. I also was glad I'd brought lip salve (Smith's is my favorite) because my lips were so dry, and my own pillow.

I like your style! I was thinking the same thing before I got to the Woodrow Wilson comment.

Not my fault......the lack of food and the drugs had Woodrow showing up at inapproriate moments.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
