Looking for friends on MyFitnessPal

Recommended Posts

I use MyFitnessPal and would love some friends on there that use bariatric ways of eating. All my friends on there have no idea about it and what it entails lol. My username is jobey84. Anyone that doesn't mind adding me or visa versa would be awesome

I'm only 3 days post op atm, so my food diary is pretty boring but hopefully will get more exciting in a month or so lol

Thanks to you too! Although I can't see your food diary - I think you have to change that in settings.

Thanks guys, think I've figured out how to make my food diary public. So let me know if you guys can see it? For all the pre ops, my NUT let me do a no carb, no sugar, high Protein diet and I lost 16.5lbs pre-op if you wanna have a look at what I was eating She also told me that it's important to have fat in your diet so then your body doesn't go into starvation mode.

Hi all...

I'm 15 months out, 230+ pounds down and in a MASSIVE stall.

I'm looking to track my intake/exercise on the MFP app.

I'm doing it for the accuracy and the accountability.

The more people who can see what I'm doing, the more likely I am to give it a red hot go...

Anyway, if any of you would like to add me, please do so...

User name is Kinda_Familiar

Thanx...

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
