I had my surgery in Feb and experienced about a three week stall where my weight loss was very slow and then it picked up again. Right now I've been at the same number on the scale for almost 2 weeks and it's very frustrating. Has anyone else experienced another stall 3-4 months after surgery? I'm still working out 5-6 days a week and getting all my Protein and everything it's just frustrating. Thanks!

Yes and you will have more, unfortunately. Get back to basics:

-- keep a food journal

-- drink all your Water

-- track and eat all your Protein (often if you increase grams of Protein it gets you out of a stall)

-- don't drink with meals

-- wait 30 minutes until after your meal to drink Water again

-- exercise

I don't remember others but these are key. Best of luck

/I am about three months post op. I had stalls, or slow-going weight loss ( 1-2 lbs per week on average). Over the week or two, I found my weight and shape changing again. I attribute coming off a plateau to increasing my Protein, watching my fat intake, and increasing the vigor in my workouts. I do interval training on the track, treadmill, or elliptical. I also try switching my diet and exercise out every few weeks.

I am 7 weeks out now...My body is fighting back so badly... its such a stubborn thing just like its owner. Hehe ☺

I have had annoying weight loss so far... i stall a week... drop a little suddenly... maintain for a week then drop again .. etc etc... sooooooooo annoying.

But hey... at least its going down... not up... i think i need to escalate my exercise now.

I don't mind the slower weightloss in a way... at least this way my skin has some time to recover... hence less loose skin

I know right? It's been many weeks where I was at the same weight. It can be frustrating, but as long as we are not going up, and continuing a healthy lifestyle, we'll be fine.

Stalls are normal, you guys. Keep following the plan and you'll do fine, but I swear that if I had a dollar for every stall post I read, I'd be rich! Lol!

True that! .... even though i know its normal... and i know from previous wls that my body doesn't really lose much till the 3 month mark...... but i still want to whinge and whine about it lol

I wanna stomp my feet, throw a huge tantrum and throw those scales out the window hahahaha

I had my scales die on me the other day... and i vowed that i wouldn't purchase new one.... but there was a scale sale and they were 70% off! I couldn't not buy one... so now i am back to obsessing about the numbers ... i need help hahaha

The number on the scale is not the sole determinant of weight loss/health. I noticed my face, neck, and body slimming before I had major weight loss. There's been weeks where I did not lose a pound, but wore a smaller size. It easy to get obsessed with the scale, but remember the ultimate reason we chose to get surgery. I now have better sleep, breathing, I'm menstruating/ovulating every month, can walk up and down the stairs without an inhaler, etc.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
