KKS82 0 Posted June 9, 2016 I was sleeved in July of 2012. Everything went great I lost 98 lbs in the first yr, then I had a very bad back injury and everything went bad. I have now gained a total of 55lbs back and my eating is out of control. Is there any hope for me ? I have tried to do the pouch reset twice and I can't even make it though 1 full day without failing. I would suggest you make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your challenges and goals. You still have your sleeve.
Jasminelums 50 Posted June 10, 2016 You haven't lost your sleeve, just have to get your head around to it. What motivated you to get this surgery in the first place?
KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 10, 2016 I strongly encourage counseling for eating disorders (emotional eating) - it has really helped me pre-surgery.
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted June 10, 2016 I found out last year after a car accident that I have the most trouble with carbs when I am in physical pain. I was glad - because it allows my team to help me 1. with pain management that is appropriate and 2. healthy choices for food when I am wanting to eat and 3. what my maximum carb intake should be. Please reach out to your team to get help. if your still having pain that drives your eating you may be able to get more appropriate ideas for pain relief. Sajijoma 1,324 Posted June 10, 2016 My advice would be to talk to your NUT and if you no longer have one, maybe look into finding a new one who is experienced and can guide you through getting back on track. You didn't lose your sleeve. It's still there and is capable of doing everything it did the first time around, but you've got to get your head around the emotional side of this and the physical pain side. It's easy to fall off the wagon when you can't exercise and are stuck in a painful way. It's like falling down stairs, you just keep falling til you hit the bottom unless you can stop yourself. Your NUT and maybe a psych will both be able to get you back on track.
