pureed foods can be anything you cook in a crockpot and then into a blender. Make is really yummy and savory. It may not look great, but the taste? YUMMY!!.

And of course--greek yogurt--my favorite.

Or a hearty home made bone Soup,or chili-- blended, add some nutritional yeast for more Protein and flavor and yum yum.

See? now you've made me wanting to go downstairs and make soup! :)

pureed stage ? Step outside of the box , be creative and have fun.

Prayers going up .

Progresso cheese chicken enchilada Soup ( the light one) with a soup of unflavored Protein powder pureed in the blender and the heated slowly was my go to food. I still have it at 4 months out, just no blending now.

I made eggface ricotta bake. I added in some precooked chicken strips from the grocery store (Tyson brand) and would put my serving + some chicken into a blender w/ some chicken stock.

How about baby food?? Is that acceptable? Although it DOES sound like it could be someone nasty, the consistency seems right.

@@fancypants67 I just advanced to puréed food and tried baby food because it was one of the things suggested. I thought it was disgusting! I even tried to doctor it up with some seasoning. The taste was actually tolerable but there was a horrible aftertaste. But you might like it. To be fair I do not like any sort of canned meat (chicken or tuna), I also do not like any canned Soup that has meat in it ???? So I might not be the best person to judge.

My nutritionist always tells me it's going to be all trial and error from now on! I saw try it! But have a back up meal ready just in case ????

I have been eating cottage cheese with puréed fruit or sugar free jam. I have also made a cauliflower cheese casserole from a recipe found online. Also a puréed black bean Soup that I add shredded cheddar to after reheating. Puréed carrots. Soft baked white fish cooked in orange juice and olive oil.

Hahahaha! yeah, it doesn't sound very appetizing that's for sure, at least not the meat...fruit might be okay. I've never had kids so I wasn't sure how much Protein was in it. (I read it's one of Jennifer Aniston's favorite diets though!)

I think just about everyone loves baby food bananas, but the sugar might be too high.

Everything else baby food related?----leave it to the babies---they can't talk yet, so they can't report you giving them baby food as abuse!!! Just kidding--love the little curtain climbers... :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
